Quick Start Guide to the innonTeltonikaSmsService

If you have a Teltonika router and need to send alarms from your Niagara station to an SMS recipient then see below a quick start guide for our easy to configure service

The Teltonika SMS driver from Innon uses the latest firmware to enable you to send critical alarms from your Niagara station to users via SMS. (You will need firmware 07. Or higher)

Step 1:
Add the innonTeltonikaSmsService to your services within your station.

Step 2:
Define the IP Address of the router in the 'Comm Config' slot - keep the port as'443', as well as the username and password you are using to login to the router (Default 192.168.1.1:443). Right click the service > action > ping to establish your connection with the router.

If your SMS are critical. Set the 'Watchdog' property to enabled if you wish the service to fault if the module detects low signal, modem errors or failed SMS. Example below, the module will fault in these conditions.

Normal Conditions:

Setup your 'MaxSendablePerDay' property if you have SMS SIM restrictions. Data limits for example.

Set the 'MaxQueueSize' to suit your device. If using a Jace or you have a very large station, keep this as low as you can. This defines how many 'SMS' objects are kept in memory, and will deal with each SMS one by one. Failed messages will keep in this memory pool until Message Expiry has lapsed, from then the SMS is discarded.

Step 3: Now that the router is ready, you need to add the AlarmRecipient. Here you can define the SMS number you wish to forward the alarms to. You can right click on the recipient to send a test SMS to confirm the functionality.

And that’s it! You can route any alarms that you have within your station to the innonTeltonikaAlarmRecipient, and if you require more than one recipient you can add another to specify a different number for another user.

Troubleshooting & Tips

- Sometimes your modem within the Teltonika device might not be assigned the default 1-1 id, if this is the case, right click on the service and trigger the action 'Modem Check'.

- If your Queue is full, messages will be discarded but warning messages in the Application director / console will reflect this.

- If MaxSendablePerDay is exceeded, messages queued will wait until the next day.
